“Now if you were trying to think of a catchy name for your band, what would be like, the least catchy thing you could imagine, Metal Doughnut Band, something like that? Indeed. This is Laura Norder”, John Peel.

This is NEW - started on the 1st November 2024. 

This is A history of The Metal Doughnut Band in the form of a retrospectively posted blog.

An underground, unclothed, body painted, fluorescent, strobe, experimental, metal bashing collective (formed in Leicester) that existed from 1983 to 1985.

The Doughnuts were, at various times and configurations:

Andy Doughnut - Saxaphone, backing vocals, cymbal, etc., (In studio: piano)

Damian Doughnut - Metal, dancing, shouts, backing vocals, (In C4 film: grinder)
